Drum Filling

Filling drums and pails with a dry bulk material can range from the simple to the complex. This mostly depends on the volume of material that needs to be packaged. A drum filling system can simply incorporate a screw feeder, or other feed device, feeding the product into a drum placed on a scale. The scale signals to the feed device to slow down and then turn off once a weight has been reached. A more complicated system can incorporate an automatic drum feed system, a powered conveyor on the scale, vibration and settling, a check weigh scale, a top off feeder, and a discharge conveying system. Systems can be relatively automated but usually require an operator to monitor the system, tie off the bag liners, and apply the top cover with clamp.
